Got an e-mail from opportunity programs

Well today I got an e-mail from the Columbia University Opportunity Programs. It says that they have received my application and that I am being considered for one of their Opportunity Programs and they want to conduct a phone interview. Does anybody know what this means, is it a good sign?

no idea, but I would love to hear more about this.

Opportunity Program?

It's different from the Scholars' Program, I'm assuming...right?

Hey. I actually applied Early Decision to Columbia and got in. I also recieved a phone call from the Oppurtunity Programs office and had a phone interview. They basically explained that the program offsets some of the costs for attending and that a summer session is required before the "regular" classes start. I don't know if it is a good sign that they contacted you meaning it is an acceptance, but it is good because it helps with the cost and transition into Columbia. Just do the phone interview and make a good impression and all should be well. Oh Yeah, My college guidance counselor also told me it kind of takes the emphasis of SAT/ ACT scores and more on the person. So good luck, hopefully you get in. And if you do get in through this program they will send you a letter with your acceptance. Good Luck!!!!

Just out of curiosity, what is your family income?

Thank You for your help. I just replied to the e-mail, I hope everything goes well.

Let's just say it is not that high and I come from a big family.
