Got an e-mail from the financial office

I'm a 2015 Spring term transfer applicant and have requested a need-based to the University of Richmond.
I'm waiting for the decision which is on around Dec. 6, 2014.

About a week ago, my parents received a mail from Financial aid, requesting my parent's tax related forms.

My question is "Do they (admissioners) usually consider the financial aid even when they didn't decide students to accept yet?"

I don't know... in my opinion, If I were an admission person, I wouldn't even ask students to provide tax related files if he/she is not qualified to get in...

Did you look on the web site? All that info was due 1 Nov.

http://admissions.richmond.edu/arc/training/pdf/rir%20need%20based%20financial%20aid.pdf

Were you to read the aforementioned U of R material, you’d know that Richmond is need-blind. Therefore, admissions and financial aid operate separately; your financial status has NO influence on the admission decision. Therefore, as suggested by @Erin’s Dad, this e-mail implies NOTHING regarding your acceptance probability.

i provided everything except for the file they required before the due. because of the sitauation of my dad’s, I told them I can’t provide it and it didn’t matter at all

OP: If it didn’t matter “at all,” why did U of R send the e-mail to your parents?

Are you an international student(assuming you might be because your parents live in Korea)? Richmond is need-aware for international students and will consider your financial need along with their admissions decision:

You need to send them them the information they requested, regardless of residency status. If you cannot provide whatever documents they are asking for, I would suggest calling the financial aid office - it may be easier to resolve the issue that way instead of via email. I have 2 daughters attending UR and have found the financial aid office to be very helpful over the phone.

okay they requested W2 form but since my parents work in Korea, my parents haven’t filed them since they moved back to Korea. But we provided foreign tax form and they just accepted it.
And I’m not an international student. I have a green card. my parents just live in Korea.
