For the record I applied to Stanford mostly for fun and I know my chances of getting in are abysmal.
That being said… here are my scores
SAT 1290/1600 (660 reading 630 math)
Weighted GPA is 4.5 Unweighted is a 3.8
My intended major is computer science
My only EC is that I work at The Gap as a sales associate
Does the interview mean anything? Does it mean that they are considering me or do they interview everyone? I live in Pittsburgh, PA if that matters.
No, it does not mean anything for your admission chances. All it means is that there were enough available alumni in your area to give you an interview.
Do you feel I should still do the interview?
If you want to go to Stanford! If you are offered an alumni interview by a school, you absolutely should interview, or it communicates a lack of passion for the school on your part.
Definitely take the interview. It can be a good addition to your app, as it lets the admission committee hear a personal side of you that may not be displayed elsewhere. I would highly recommend doing it.
Thank you so much! Ill do the interview
