i was just wondering when you send in your apps to the colleges through regular mail do they contact you in any way to let you know that they recieved it. via email or sumthing? if so how long does it take for them to notify you about when they recieved it? Thanks

I suppose this could depend on the school, but my general impression is that if you send something through regular mail, you're not notified if they receive it. Some schools have online trackers where you can see which parts of the app the school has received.

If not, you could put in a return postcard (stamped and addressed to yourself) that the admissions office will mail out when it receives whatever you're sending them.

It totally depends on the college. Some send e-mail, some don't, some send it a month later...etc. If you did common app online, you can at least check if a college downloaded your app, meaning that they got that part of it, regardless of the school.

They'll notify you if they are missing anything via email or snail mail.
