Got called for an interview - Does this mean they are considering me more seriously?

Why would the crew request an interview so late in the process? Does this mean I’m sorta on the edge and this is to find out if they really want me or not?

It’s kinda weird, I always read all the interview posts and think to myself that I’m happy I don’t have to go through all the anxiety and nervousness of the interview - but look now. I guess I’m going to have to go back and read up on all the stuff again. Clothing, timing, what to ask, etc. Haha, it’s all good though, I’m in this for the experience so the more tales to tell the better.

Anyone else still have an interview up ahead? What are you thinking about and preparing with? Just chilling or going crazy over what to wear?

Also, any advice from people who already had theirs would be great. Thanks guys…

wait...they called u for ANOTHER interview? or just one....cause almost everybody gets one

Just one, dude; aka my first ;).

Alumni have until March 1 to submit interview reports and have no access to applicants' hs records; the timing of your call relates to your interviewer's schedule.

I am a Brown interviewer.

Don't read anything into this. Timing is normal. They try to assign interviews earlier, but sometimes there is a backlog (or the first interviewer flakes out and it takes longer to find someone...) Not everyone gets an interview; some are late; some are early. Just luck of the draw.

Relax, have fun, and enjoy your interview! Be yourself.

I'm in Southern California (Orange County). Submitted my application in early December. No interview, no call. Makes me worry big time... because Brown is at the top of my list.

SBMom, how much do they count interviews for at Brown? Because my interviewer called unexpectedly at 8 o'clock at night, while I was writing a paper, and proceeded to interview me. I was caught completely off guard and couldn't even remember my extra cirricular activities (had to pull up my resume quick). Will this hurt my chances of getting in? He told me that it was not a performance interview, but if it not performance, what is it? I told him he caught me completely off guard.

Sorry for this primitice question, but are interviews only given to applicants applying ED?

No, I applied RD and I had an interview already.

PLEASE don't worry the Brown interviews do not count for much! Brown tries to interview everyone but it is not always possible to get enough alumni interviewers! :(

Relax, be yourselves; I have confidence that all of you know how to have a simple conversation! The alumni love Brown, you love Brown; you've got that in common... Really, do not be stressed.

SBmom, I had a great time at my interview. My interviewer called the admission office to talk about me, and then we contacted few days later and he sounded very promising. Is that a good sign? Does the interviewer's support help me much?

Certainly won't hurt... but I know I have had great interviews with applicants who were not admitted. :(

I don't think it's much either way-- but it is a nice time to connect, learn more about Brown, and have a chance to be a 'real live person' instead of a bunch of stats on a paper.

Thanks a lot, SBmom, you are really helpful!

My interview is in one hour, AAHHHHHHH!

:-D

good luck!! :)

It went pretty well :).

Congratulations!
