I chose Film and Tv production major, and I did not upload portfolios, I didn’t mention much about the film-related experiences I had in my application, is this the reason why I got deferred? Is this a competitive major?
Hi, I’m currently a student at LMU. You should definitely send LMU a portfolio - the film school is the most competitive school at the university. Also do include fall transcripts. Interestingly enough, the same thing happened to me last eyar but I didn’t send in my fall transcript - but I probably should have!
Also, the programs at LMU are not very impacted so it’s generally not hard to change majors - the harder school to transfer into would be the film school.
Hi, thanks for replying!
I meant could I change my intended major for regular decision? Because I don’t have a portfolio, I am just interested in Film major.
I was just interested in the film major, but I don’t have any experience related to the film. Do you think I can change my major for the regular decision?
@PPP17 - It seems unlikely you can get into the film major, which is highly competitive, without any kind of portfolio. You might want to call the Admissions Office and speak to an admissions officer about changing your intended major, though if your essays are targeted to film, then this might not be to your benefit.
@PPP17 - If you are one the somewhat rare young people who are comfortable making phone calls, then by all means, call. This will get you more information sooner. A well-composed email can be a good alternative if you don’t like to call or get nervous. Just my two cents.
