Okay so I got into MIT (woohoo) but I'm here to ask what you may know of credit transfer. I e-mailed admissions and apparently they will evaluate my credits once I go to MIT. This worries me because I don't want to be put so far behind. Anyone know more or less how behind they put you?

Thanks

Conservatively, you would probably lose one or two semesters of work. It really depends on the classes you took and their syllabi.

MIT undergrad chemistry seems to have a different structure than that of most other schools. Additionally, their physics/single/multi-var calc classes seem to cover what would normally be two semesters of content in one.

Yeah I’ve read that. What I don’t like is the uncertainty. I’m prepared to retake several courses I just don’t want to redo an entire year. Chemistry would not be an issue. I took it as AP and got a 4 in high school and retook in college got an 800 on the SAT subject test. I wouldn’t mind redoing organic chem. I just don’t want to do dumb classes like literature and such.

Wait what?? I applied as a transfer but haven’t heard anything yet…
