those of u who got rejected with high stats, r u guys international.
I think if u r citizen, 3.75+ would be enough. But if u r intern, probably 4.0 is just so so. Is it the case?

my friend who is a green card holder with 3.8 didnt get in ucb
but another friend who is illegal got in ucb

3.85 from cali rejected

You're not fully admitted until you pass all the requirements. Everyone has to go through the SLR and transcripts. If the illegal passes it, I'll give him/her props.

What do you all plan to do after graduating with your degree in economics? I'm guessing a lot of you guys want to get into business and get your MBA maybe?

Indeed, entering the corporate world would be idea. An MBA is in consideration, but I was looking more towards a J.D.

Entrepreneurship is also something I'm interested in.

I want to be rich, or die trying.

*quote unquote

yup. i think a PhD in Econ would be boring.

just find a job, 3 yrs later, try to do a MBA. then..... $$$$$ hopefully :P

Any specific area in business you guys wanna get into? Finance? Accounting? Marketing?

Finance.
btw, if i got into berkeley as a Econ major, it is possble for me to have a minor in accounting? What about UCSD's Econ? can i get a minor in accounting later?

Well, as I mentioned, law would be the best fit for me. I wouldn't mind finance or consulting, either. Marketing is a bit out there, and accounting is something I'll consider only if there's a need for CPAs in my area of residence.

My end-goal is to start my own businesses, at least one of which will be a non-profit.

[I don't believe Cal offers an Accounting minor, unfortunately. I could be wrong, though.]

Help! i'm interrested in applying for Cal's Econ this fall, but I'm afraid of my Units. I have almost 80 quarter units by the end of this quarter however about 36 of the units are from high school APs or city college during high school so i was wondering if those count into the Units. If i take another 40 or so quarter units sophmore year then i would be over the maximum units? unless those APs and stuff don't count.

4.0 GPA (60 Units were completed by fall)
Pre reqs: all done
EC: ASB Vice Pres, ASB Senator, Intercollegiate Tennis Team Captain, Student Athlete of The Year, Inter Club Council Chair, PTK, High School tennis coach
languages: German, Vietnamese, French and English Fluently
Applied: UCLA, UCD, UCB, UCI,UCSC, UCSB,UCSD and a couple other
Accepted: Everywhere but Cal state fullerton lol?
gonna chose UCB (go Bears!)
Essay; some stuff about saving third world countries hahahahaah ok truth is i would really like to do that....lol
second essay:creating help fund for fire victims from last year
Current condition: really really scared of transferring and not making it....

IXS the way i understood is that if you took the AP Exam and succesfully passed it than the units count...otherwise the AP class just satisfies the requirements....hope that helps...
