Got in to the "Seven Sisters", which to choose?

Wow, I don’t know how people find these very old threads to resurrect.

LOL- this thread had its last post about 10 mos ago. Thats not too old. Some 3-5 yr old threads get resurrected sometimes!! Thats confusing!

hi i’m currently deciding between bryn mawr and mount holyoke and i was wondering what ur advice is. i need help deciding because i’m stuck.

I think Bryn Mawr has a much less isolated location than Mount Holyoke. It is on a train line to Philly and surrounded by many great colleges. Good luck with your decision.

Try posting on the BMC and MHC boards.

I was accepted to Wellesley and Mount Holyoke, and I’m also having a hard time deciding which school to attend.

Have you visited both?

Here are what I see as the biggest differences:

Wellesley is in a suburban Boston location, Mount Holyoke is in a hamlet.

Off campus socializing for Wellesley tends towards Boston and Cambridge, whereas from Mount Holyoke you would head to Amherst and Northampton. The latter are charming college towns rather than urban destinations.

At Wellesley you can take classes at MIT, Babson and Olin, at Mount Holyoke, you can take classes at UMass, Smith, Hampshire or Amherst.

Mount Holyoke has a higher percentage of international students.

Mount Holyoke (in my opinion) has a slight edge in terms of creature comforts, food, availability of singles and so on.
