<p>Well, don't forget that most programs are open to scheduling a personal interview date for you. The sacrifice of not interviewing on the assigned date is that you won't have the same interview experience at that school, but this is a solution when the schools you want to visit have conflicting interview weekends! Some people also reschedule so that they don't have to fly out twice to somewhere far (e.g., the Bay Area) for interviews.</p>
