Got into Chicago, doing other apps?

Chicago is a great school, but especially since I need finaid and I want to compare packages, I'm applying to about 15 more schools RD. Is there anyone else applying to more schools after they got into chicago? and where are you applying?

Yes I have applied to other schools as well. I'm in the same boat as you as far as financial aid goes... so I really can't risk not getting enough by accepting this UChicago offer immediately. I applied to all my schools EA though... Two were my local state school safeties (both of which I have been offered more than a full ride to attend), then I have been accepted to Case Western, and I'm waiting on my ID decision from Rice University which won't be around until February, unfortunately. Rice and UChi are pretty much tied at the top of my list, so it really all comes down to the finaid for me.

exact same situation as the OP...it's my first choice, I got in...but can I afford it?!

I'm applying to:
Georgetown (already got deferred, oh well)
UVA
William and Mary
Johns Hopkins
Rice (interim, I'll know in February)
Brown
UPenn
annd....Virginia Tech (safety)

Oh, and Kathryn, rice & chicago tied for my top choice as well. Small world!

^ Same situation, what with the Benjamins...

Anyhow, Im applying to these places as well:

UMD-CP (applied)
Loyola College (applied)
UVA (applied)
JHU (98% of the way there)
Penn (60% done)
MIT (75% done)
Cornell (75% done)

Hmm...Rice & Hopkins are tied for my first choice...however, if Chicago had a biomed engineering program, it'd be up there as well.

I applied to UMichigan at Ann Arbor Rolling (still haven't heard lazy *******s), Deferred from Penn, and into Chicago.

Applying to Brown and Yale RD, and pulling some strings on Penn that may or may not work.... who knows if I go there if I get in hehe

From what I understand the #1 reason students give for not choosing Chicago once admitted is financial aid. Sounds like comparing aid packages is a good idea.

And that´s really disappointing too. Its sad to hear that so many more kids want the UofC experience but due to our lack of funds are unable to get it. urgh. Makes me especially mad considering some schools are at the point in which they can make the entire school free for people in a certain income bracket.

15 more schools?!
Good lord.

I applied to two safeties and Chicago early, and 4 other schools regular.
UNC-CH
NCSU
WUStL
Harvard
Columbia
Dartmouth

I bailed on Penn, and I just need to send in MIT and Cornell.

There is no need to apply to 15 more schools. Apply to a couple schools you like just as much or more than Chicago as well as a financial safety school. If you're applying to 16 schools, you're wasting your money and your time.

Word--stop applying to so many, you can't possibly find that many that are a fit for you...

esp now that ur in U of C, a top 10 school is now ur safety i mean damn, thats why im only applying to brown and yale, two reaches, no safeties or targets (still haven't started those apps yet hehe).
