Got into U of I, where else?

I got accepted to U of I back in December, had applied early to the school of business. I know U of I is a great school and I would be love to go there, but when I went to visit the campus it was 4 degrees and there was snow everywhere. Being from Virginia, I wasn't particularly pleased with this, and was wondering if anyone could give me realistic chances at the last two schools on my list that I haven't heard back from- University of Southern California and University of Miami (FL)

Senior yr: Coaching youth basketball again, good chance at being Varsity baseball captain, NHS again, Volunteer Baseball Camp Counselor

Also took microeconomics at University of Richmond over the summer, got an B+ (89%) and received credit

Essay was pretty solid, wrote about overcoming size issues during my baseball career.

Recommendations should also be solid, teacher/counselor seem to really like me

From a very high ranking public HS in VA, difficult grading scale

Got into U of Illinois business school, Kelley School of Business at Indiana, and Smeal Business school at Penn State. What are my chances at Southern Cal and Miami? I'm a longshot, but I would appreciate if someone could give me some updated chances now that I have been accepted to three schools already. And if you don't want to talk about other schools/don't know anything about USC and UM, feel free to rant about the lackluster play of the UI basketball team lately. haha

You’re definately getting into The U, but for USC I think it’s a reach good luck!

thanks, I agree that SoCal is a reach but I think UM is a possibility, although I would attend U of I over Miami anyways because of the huge money difference

cough cough…bump plz

yeah our winters are a bit tough, but there are worse ones for sure.

i was also considering umiami and usc. didnt end up applying to usc for financial reasons, and didnt end up applying to umiami because their business school doesnt even compare to uiuc. i personally insist that you don’t choose miami for its weather. but you will get in there and they will offer you really nice scholarships. i agree that usc is a reach.

thanks! I agree, UIUC has a much better business program than UM’s and its much cheaper, but a few scholarships would make the decision tougher. USC is def a reach, but if I got in I would probably pay the absurd amount of money just because its my dream school. If not, I’ll just buy some snow boots and head off to U of I!
