Got into UCLA TFT but I gotta accept acceptance by the 30th! But I won't hear from fin aid by then, what to do???!!?!

What’s TFT?

TFT?? What is that?

TFT is UCLA’s School of Theater Film and Television

That’s great! Congrats! Why won’t you hear about fin aid before then? And why are they making you accept before the “regular” acceptance date of June 1st?

I talked to fin aid today and they said my app was missing the dependant form thing and then I have no idea why TFT is making me accept so soon.

The email just said to. So I’m guessing because it’s a competitive program they don’t want people who aren’t going to accept to stop the students who would from getting the spot. So i guess to replace you since there is only 15 spots.

OMG!!! this is really exciting news!

congratulations i am happy for you! :)

Have you applied to any other UCs? If so, check on their websites to see if you can see what your financial aid is. It shouldn’t vary too much from UC to UC, so it’ll give you a good ballpark.

You should also give someone from the department a call tomorrow and let them know that you’re waiting on your fin. aid to accept.

Could you accept and then rescind your acceptance if your fin. aid package isn’t good enough?

abutler5-you cant rescind your own acceptance. you can retract your SIR but you wont get a refund.

Thanks Jane!!!

@abutlet5 No i didn’t apply to any other UC’s only USC and UCLA. The university i currently go to covers all of my expenses, i really hope they can do the same or at least do most.

I think I’ll do that, i will see if I can wait on fin aid and see what they say, I hope they don’t think I don’t want the spot though.

Congratulations!!! I seriously thought this was another trick thread, keke! But I’m really happy for you! Wow, TFT is super hard to get into…!!! I hope your FA situation gets worked out tho…tough! >__<;; Let us know how it goes!

@Yunie I will thanks!!!

Congrats! that is super awesome!! ANd super awesome you are prolly one in a few thousand people who found out so soon! you are one lucky person! GO BRUINSSS

Are you old enough to be considered independent by the UC system? If so…

ARen’t there only like 15 spots in that program!? Congrats dude!!!

@abutlet5 unfortunately i’m in such a fin aid bind becuz I’m technically a cali res but because I go to school out of state I missed the deadline to apply for cal grant and you need to apply for cal grant to get blue and gold so my life extra sucks. That’s why I’m so scared.

@solidblu, yes only 15 spots, I was almost hyperventilating during the interview and then when i read the email i was like face meet floor.

makemydreams-what is your major? are you gonna do theater or film making or something else glamorous?

omg this is such a big dream and honor UCLA TFT ftw! and wow you really deserve congratulations!!!
