Congratulations! On behalf of the University of Connecticut, it is our pleasure to invite you to join the incoming freshman class. Due to the rigorous requirements of the main campus in Storrs, we are unable to honor your request for immediate admission to this campus. Please see the detailed information above regarding your admission offer. You will be receiving an official letter by postal mail in the near future. We look forward to welcoming you to the UConn community.

So sorry for your disappointment. By April first, there will be a lot of other disappointed students like you. I’m afraid that UConn is not need blind and it seems if you checked the “I will apply for financial aid box” many of the qualified, but lower half of students who might otherwise get into the Storrs campus are shuttled to a regional campus so they can commute and go to school for less. I could be wrong, but from my observations, that seems to be the pattern here in SE Connecticut. If you are looking for the whole college experience, it may not be too late to try for Eastern, Central, or Western, though housing is limited on those campuses. If you got into the Hartford campus, you should be able to get into Avery Point which has no housing, but there are apartments close by and the campus is beautiful, and if you are into marine science it is better than the main campus.
