I accepted and filled out my Statement of Intent to Register

I filled out the Statement of Residency

I accepted some type of Housing agreement

I just had my school send my 7 semester grades to UCSD

I have my FAFSA filled out (on time) and am currently applying for scholarships

UCSD has given me preliminary awards predictions (are these accurate? and how come as a family barely making 20k a year, UCSD can only offer me around 9k?)

Is there anything that I am missing?

Do I need to send in my citizenship proof? When do they want it? will they ask me for it?

How do I know if I have been approved for the cal-grant (why is the cal-grant only 1k $)

How come they don't mention anything about Cal-Grant A

How can I find out if my school automatically submits my verified GPA To the CAL Grant Associated?

Will these grants/awards be given to me in my later years?

Do I have to fill out the FAFSA every year?

THANKS SO MUCH FOR YOUR TIME GUYS,
Very nervous.

maybe ur 2008 FAFSA didnt accurately reflect ur economic situation. the amount of aid u receive depends on both your INCOME and ur ASSETS. so,u might have more assets even though the income is low. if ur FAFSA is inaccurate for ur current situation, u could call them and ask about the financial aid they gave u :]
http://www.ucsd.edu/current-students...ates.html#cala
u can contact the fin. aid office at (858) 534-4480.

Do I need to send in my citizenship proof? When do they want it? will they ask me for it?
i dont think u need to send in citizenship proof…if ur a citizen then u have a social security # and that counts as enough proof :]

How do I know if I have been approved for the cal-grant (why is the cal-grant only 1k $)
u’d look at ur fin aid package…if its not there then u probably didnt qualify

How come they don’t mention anything about Cal-Grant A
u probably didnt qualify

Will these grants/awards be given to me in my later years?
depending on your FAFSA that u file each year, the grants/awards may be adjusted.

How can I find out if my school automatically submits my verified GPA To the CAL Grant Associated?
u’r supposed to fill out a form at school to release ur GPA. i believe this was due before the FAFSA deadline. ask ur college counselor for more info :]

also, ur supposed to send in ur transcripts for all 8 semesters by july15th. so i think u need to resend ur transcripts…

You don’t get to choose, you just get what you qualify for. Anyway, B works out to be much better in the long run than A even though it is less the first year.

As it was explained to me, the Cal B Grant is about 1.5K the first year but goes up to almost 8K for each of the next three years. I hope that’s right because I got B and at first was diasppointed because A looked like more up front.
