Got into UT Austin but didn't get into my major, comp sci, what are my other options?

So I’m going in undecided and I plan on declaring comp sci again after freshman year except I’ve heard that it is extremely competitive and the chances of getting in are even lower. So besides that, are there any other ways I can study comp sci? Maybe through graduate school or transfer or something?

Where else did you apply and get in?

@texaspg
No where, I was automatic admission so I was able to get into the college but since I was rejected from the major I have to go in as undecided.

You can still apply to some other schools if you hurry. I think that is what you should do and then consider your options. Look at UT Dallas.

@txstella
Yes that sounds like a great idea. I think I will do that. Just to make sure, do u say that because there is basically no hope in me being able to transfer into comp sci or the cockrell school of engineering as an undecided? If so, is it possible to switch into other schools like business?

I am no expert, but from what I know it is very hard to transfer into computer science, business and engineering.

Submit your UT D application today. It is quite strong for computer science (I’ve been told this from someone who is very knowledgable).

Good luck.
