Got Loa, question on cfa

I received an loa in early october and all that I have left to mail in is the cfa. When I was at the SLS, my results on the cfa were:

0 pullups
68' bb throw
9.7 shuttle run
33 pushups
55 situps
9:12 mile

to my surprise, i was only at risk in the pullups and mile run events. i have since retaken the cfa and have scored as follows:

1 Pullup
68' bb throw
9.8 shuttle run (I did it on a slick gym floor this time, not an indoor track)
51 pushups
80 situps
7:20 mile

I am a varsity lineman, so pullups are naturally very hard for me to do at 215 lbs. On the cfa, they take your best results out of each event, there is no minimum for each event, right. My question is, are these scores good enough to pass?

your shuttle run looks like it may fail you. Other than that all the other events look good

I heard that the average for the shuttle run was 10 seconds. Where did you get your numbers from?

Your shuttle run would be a pass, I think. Unfortunately USMA wants to see more than 1 pull-up; however, since you (1) have an LOA and (2) have extenuating circumstances (are you being recruited for football?) then USMA might make an exception. Your best bet would be to contact admissions or your MALO and ask them up front. It seems to me that the academies like to see a pass in all events on the CFA. Of course they don't publish minimums because that way they can allow candidates in even if they don't make a certain "cut" on the CFA. However, if USMA says you need more pull-ups then you can at least try to train for that by practicing them with weight attached or doing other sorts of training. Just my .02. Congrats, and good luck!

question for fitrace87, if he can only do 1 pullup how many do you think he can do with weights attatched??? I would suggest getting someone to spot you or use an assisted pullup machine.

True greenapple, thanks for clearing it up. I didn't think about using an assisted pullup machine; that's probably the way to go in this situation.

Wow, I think min pull-ups is 6. That may keep you out, but I don't know more about the situation.

Everything else looks great though.

yeah, according to last year's information book the min is 6 pullups for USMA. You know, you should not sweat pullups because if you work on it everyday, you will be able to increase your pullups within a week or two. Just do negative pullups everyday as a work out, and you'll probably beable to go past the min in 2 weeks tops. I was able to go from 3-6 in a week. And some people go from 0 - 12 dead hang pullups in mere weeks.
