I just got my June SAS from the June 4th SAT.

I was disappointed in my scores:
Math: 570
CR: 520
W: 560
1650

I was checking whether my raw scores etc matched up with the blue book's grading/conversion table and my CR scores dont.

(warning: horrible and grotesque scores below)
Math scores matched up, raw 34 = 570

CR scores dont, I got a raw score of (16 + 15 + 11 - (24/4)) = 36 which translates to 530, not 520.

W matches up (26 + 10 - (11/4) ) = 33, which is a 560 [8 essay]

Although I scored higher on CR my first time taking it, they still messed up. Is this anything I should try to do something about? Contact them and tell them? Anyone have an experience with a wrong score? I know it's only 10 points, but still?

The exact conversion from raw to scaled isn’t even released so I don’t know where you are getting your figures from. I’m assuming you’re looking at past tests but this one probably had a worst curve. Anyways, 10 points is nothing to be worried about.

Thanks for the feedback, I started thinking the same thing. I got the conversion and scoring system from the BB, it has the same thing # correct - (# incorrect/4) = raw then you just look at the table.

^Those are just examples of curves for previously administered tests. They don’t always have to match up.

The curve is to try and make every SAT that was administered equal to each other. This is so that colleges would be able to more accurately compare scores taken during different time periods. Students did better on this test than the conversion rate of the previously administered one so the scaled score is a bit lower. It does warm my heart though because your writing and math were the same. Gives me more confidence in the curve.

Ahh lol thank you guys. I dont think I would have wasted the 50 bucks anyway for a score verification.

Just got to make my last time count

Good luck! Self-studying will serve you will. I’m also preparing for my last re-take.

ah! good luck to you too! im also taking the ACT (in addition to the SAT in oct) for the first and last time in september, i might do better on that lol
