Please chance me! I am worried about my dreary SAT scores. Will they be a problem? I will do my best to chance back if I can!! Thanks in advance!!!!

Your SAT is fine. Essays/Recommendations will hold the key. Everything looks good…you have a lot of science/bio stuff. Presuming that is your passion and you will talk about that in your essays. Good luck

Thanks for the chance!

I should add that I am getting recommendations from my physics teacher (2 years, great relationship) and government teacher (who is also the sponsor for Model UN).

The professor with whom I work at WashU is also writing me a letter, which should be pretty solid.

My essays are written about orchestra and my experiences as a researcher. I’ve had friends and teachers read them and they have told me that they’re quite nice.

You worry too much. Your SAT scores are far from “dreary”. If you check the average scores of the schools you have listed, you are well within the norm for current students. Unfortunately, I can’t give you any more advice on the topic. However, I encourage you to be more confident in your abilities. No one is perfect. No one is omniscient. Admissions officers know this.

Although you should strive to do your best in ALL endeavors, stressing out over your inability to be perfect in all endeavors will only lead to hernias… and possible mental health issues in the future. I have seen too many people burn out in their academic careers (and life in general), simply because they considered anything short of perfection to be an utter failure. These individuals usually developed serious self-esteem problems. To summarize, perfection is good… but so is “very good”.

Relax. You’re doing great. Good luck with your applications!
