So I received Questbridge mail which says it's a special program for low income students... But right now our family's income is 120k. Should I just disregard this mail or apply?

If your family’s income is $120k, I doubt you’d qualify. Was your family low-income at one time?

If you look at the Questbridge website, they break down the percentage of scholarships awarded to different income brackets. I believe that income bracket of greater than $60,000 per year is awarded at about 2% of the total scholarships. If your family income is greater than $60K, then you need to show some kind of financial hardship that your family has experienced over the years that you have overcome. For instance, supporting family members overseas, extremely high medical bills for a family member, loss of a business, or some other compelling story that will cause the program to consider you having come from a disadvantaged background.

My D got Questbridge info when she was in high school, and our income was too high. I think that Questbridge purchases lists of high performing students & they don’t know if the student is rich or poor.

Exactly. As RadDdad1 says, if you do not have extenuating circumstances that can be documented and proven, there is no point in applying.

I joked when we got one at our house. It said low income, high performing students; they got it backwards! I assumed it was some URM list.
