I am also surprised at the number of Asians invited. According to the following link, only 200 students are invited.
[Common Place — MOSAIC is Looking for Hosts and Volunteers!](<a href=“Vanderbilt University”>Vanderbilt University)

I’m a little confused because I’m a US citizen caucasian from California and I got the same multicultural packet today with an acceptance. I checked my application and everything is correct. My parents are alumni so maybe that messed things up? I have a 3.68 uw from a competitive private school and my superscore is 2290.

ivyfan2: it says they’ll be hosting 200 students, but the MOSAIC pamphlet advises people to register early as it usually fills up by the end of February. I’m guessing that would imply that they invite some/many more students than their capacity.

Congrats guys! I got one as well. Indian from FL. 1590/2290 SAT 35 ACT 4.65 GPA

Btw I’ve heard the number invited is 300 although only 200 can go. Btw, does anybody know how many minority applicants there usually are, or does that data not exist?

sockpuppetmaster, I think you are right. Congrats to you and all who were invited.

Any middle-easterns get it?

I was invited to the Mosaic Weekend with a 2350 and 4.5 GPA. I am very excited tomeet all of you and visit the campus!

I got one today too! Asian, 2380 SAT, 4.0 GPA. I’d really like to go but I don’t think my parents will let me =(

Congrats everyone. I got my letter yesterday. Not totally sure if I will choose to visit, but it sounds like a fun time.

Hispanic, Illinois, Average test scores and GPA

Wow, it seems like the people who got MOSAIC invites have really strong stats! Congratulations! Swim, what do you consider “average?” I wished I got an invite, but I guess not. Oh well, I’ll keep on waiting :)

Lcharlieg, even though you are not an ethnic minority, you are likely invited. My Caucasian son is a Chancellor’s Scholar at Vandy and has helped host on Mosaic weekends–not typical but it happens. He brought a few things to Vandy that they were interested in having on campus it seems and he has a very diverse group of friends re states and ethnic origins. His first roomie was from L.A., and later housemates were from very different backgrounds. congrats!

My son is also Caucasian but was invited to the Mosaic Weekend. He is very excited to attend the weekend. It was a great surprise to receive the early regular decision acceptance letter.

Have people from CA gotten their letters yet?

We’re in So. Cal. and my son got his letter yesterday.

Received my MOSAIC invite today! African American, Female, California

Got a letter! Hispanic from GA with 2340 SAT and 36 ACT.

my friend and me got ours yesterday but can’t go because of our senior retreat :(

32 ACT on my best sitting and a 4.47 gpa.

Compared to most of what I see here I am nothing. lol

I got accepted as well. I was initially confused because I am caucasian. But I emailed the admissions counselor and good news!

32 ACT, 3.98 (unweighted) 5.67 (weighted) GPA, difficult classes, extracurriculars etc.

Congrats to everyone!
