Ok so I calculated your GPA from past threads and it was about a 3.447875. After reading the essay, I honestly think that the GPA is what rejected you. Your essay was wonderful and very well-written, evincing many details about you. While it does showcase your interests and you ability to formulate amazing writing, I think it is missing characteristics of your personality (eg determination, activist, strong). However, the essay was still very good.
@jackisawesome Thank you so much! I screwed up my 9th grade marks and I don’t think I can change that :(, I’ve tried to make up by improving to the best of my abilities but I don’t think I can do much else. Fingers crossed and foot forwards I guess.
@jackisawesome I was thinking of re-writing my common app essay as it doesnt show much of my personality, should I edit or re-write it? Because I also feel that I can let my personality shine through with the supplements.

The Ivy League is such a numbers game not to be mean but with a 3.44 with no hooks i don’t think they’ll even read your essay
@BucketsUCSC I just did really bad in my 9th grade with 80/100, I followed up with a 87/100 in 10th and a 94.3/100 in 11th and a 94.5/100 in my 12th mid terms. I don’t think they’ll convert my marks into GPA as I’m from india and I think the rigour and marking scheme is recognized. Also in 9th just before the finals(which was in march) my grandad passed away (in feb) so I was quite traumatized as he was the one who pretty much raised me. I don’t want to be making excuses but It’s what happened and I can’t really change the marks. So well, fingers crossed I guess.
@BucketsUCSC Also, using the WES GPA convertor my GPA comes out as a 4.0/4.0. I’m not sure how accurate it is but since its Internationally recognized it might hold some value.
I will read your essay if you’d like
I can read your essay if you still need feedback.
