Okay so I got into the building and LLC I wanted but to my dissatisfaction I got put into a single. I always wanted the "college experience" of rooming with someone. I didn't request a roommate, I left it up to potluck. Is there anyways I can still get a double, while staying in the LLC that I want? What should I expect from a single? I'm really sociable and make friends easy, so is this single a blessing in disguise or should I prepare to be alone? Thanks in advance!

I know of more horror roommate stories than good ones. Singles are in high demand, so you’re lucky. And 9 times out of 10, you won’t have the same friends as your roommate because, well, you two are different people. Accept it and be very social. Keep your door open when you’re in your room and meet anyone and everyone

Trust me, singles are in HIGH demand. I was upset when I got a single my freshman year, but it was awesome. You end up having way more room and thus, if you choose to make it that way, your room becomes the ‘hangout’ room. Plus with having a single, you can choose to shut the door and get studying done, or whatever you need to do, without having to worry about a roommate.

One of my D’s friend got a single in the Kelley LLC despite the fact that she did not request it and it worked out great for her. She made just as many friends as everyone else but unlike everyone else she could have a bit of privacy/ quiet time if she felt like it. Most of my daughter’s friends barely tolerated their roommates and at least 2 requested and received room changes due to incompatibility. Do not worry , you will probably love having a single.
