got stuff in the mail

lolol Seems like I'm the only one who didn't get a Parents News brochure, which is weird because NYU is always sending me stuff.

it would make no sense at all if they were only being sent to rejectees... i mean, its possible that its being sent to most people without meaning anything... but just rejectees? that is in no way plausible

I didn't get a Parents News brochure either, but I don't think it means anything.

Edit: Just noticed that a previous post asked for stats of people who didn't get it. 2300 SAT, 800/770/680 SAT IIs, GPA: 100 W/ 96ish UW.

You must be joking

whatever.. it probably doesnt mean anything.. but i was just wondering why and if they did send it to all 35000+ applicants.. i assume that they've made the majority of the decisions already (seeing as they already sent GSP acceptances) so a connection between brochures and an acceptance or GSP acceptance seemed possible.. but maybe not.

So yeah.. did anyone NOT get anything?
and did anyone that was already accepted to GSP get anything?

I got it.
GPA= uw-3.7
SAT=2100/2400
ACT=32
And I got nothing about GSP...

My mom seems to think that I got in.... I'm not quite as optimistic.

Lol.... wow I feel embarassed by putting this up here but oh well.
I got a Student News fold-out thingy and then the next day I got a Fin. Aid brochure from NYU.
GPA- 3.14 UW
SAT- 1850/2400
I'm also a recruited athlete if that helps...

Didn't get one.
1920 -- 3.93 GPA

My SATs suck. I bet they'll reject me for it.

I applied last year... and I got that packet/thing too.

Got into CAS.

Going to CAS.

CAS is the ****.

Applying next year...didn't get the packet/thing...chief reason being that I didn't apply yet...

Hopefully around this time next year, I'll be typing the following message:

I got the packet/thing...

Applied to Stern
Got into Stern
Going to Stern

Stern rocks.

Got the parent news thing..Daughter took it as a good sign. I personally think it's sent to everyone on the mailing list.
D's stats:
1410/2050, 94 GPA, HS doesn't rank, but in the top 10%. Decent EC's, good essays, excellent recs.
However, D probably won't attend, got good money from other schools, NYU doesn't give much merit $.

got the student news today, dont see it as a bad thing

Err....what is GSP?

We received both the parent and student news last week.
My son received an offer to GSP in the mail today and all of us are excited.
He is in top 10% of class, 720-M, 590-V, 650 -W, 29 on ACT, 3.7+(UW), many APs and honors. Tennis team, bass guitar player, excellent recs and who knows how good the essays were- isn't that up to the reader?
Now we have to investigate what this GSP is all about!

Scrowman-Do you live in NY? Congrats by the way!!!

We are in CT

I got the student news thing today. It's just the regular mailing they always send out; I still don't think it has anything to do with acceptances.

4.0 uw
1510 old sat
valedictorian
lots of ecs...
hopefully this means it has nothing to do with gsp

haha i just got it. it was all dirty and had stains on it...probably because of the rain.

gogetter you're definitely not gsp material. (better than gsp)
