My friends have been telling me to try Princeton Review, as they say it's the best out there. I got the bluebook already and I've been looking at it, not done with it yet though.

Should I consider getting the Princeton Review?

I have Princeton, and it’s alright…but BB helped a lot…especially in writing. I would just keep the BB. Princeton practice problems are really hard and it never gave me an accurate representation of my score. You should also consider getting the Official CB Online SAT Guide.

what is the Bluebook? where can my daughter get it? thanks :)

^ I think the “blue book” is the book from College Board. It’s bright blue and it’s the only SAT prep book by the actual test-makers.

My opinion: get Barron’s and College Board’s SAT prep book. Barron’s is much harder than the actual test, but it does prepare you better. The questions are more difficult, especially for the critical reading sections. College Board’s book has more accurate practice exams, which you should save for the period of time before you’re going to take the SATs (really useful)! Without any practice, I got a sad 1800 on the Barron’s, but around 2000 on the CB book. With practice, I’m getting over 2000. So, use the Barron’s first and then the CB’s practice exams! (:

Princeton Review is okay, but not nearly as good as Barron’s or the “blue book”. The reason is that the practice tests weren’t accurate and the book was just unhelpful, in general. The tips were obvious & there was a lot of unnecessary filler paragraphs.

If you need the extra practice, get the PR book. However, when I was alternating between the BB and PR book, sometimes I noticed the PR math sections were almost exactly the same as the BB’s except with different numbers. But Barron’s is definitely a good book to teach you. It goes pretty in depth.
