Got "the letter"

No, not the likely letter...the one that says "congratulations on your hard work and scholastic success...using information obtained from college testing services, we have identified you as a student who may be a good candidate for Yale."

The one that MEANS NOTHING! But, wow, that letter does its job...makes you feel good and like you have a real chance so you better apply!

Anyway, good luck to everyone awaiting this year's decisions!

OMG! I got one, too. Lol. What a big ego boost. I was just selected as a finalist for TASP and I’m beginning to feel as if there is hope…haha

There’s always hope!!! (Well, until there is denial!) Good luck with TASP!

DS, a junior, got one too…It was nicely written…

I don’t know what to do with it. I don’t want to put it in my “Ughhhh college ads” pile.

As I opened it, I had some irrational dream that it would be a handwritten letter from their admissions officer offering me acceptance without even applying…

It was nice. First letter from HYP, and a very encouraging one too. I wonder where they got the info from (ACT?PSAT?). Do HYP and other top tier schools usually send out that much mail? As a prospective NMSF, should I expect a deluge (not a bad thing)?

Sent from my HTC PH39100 using CC

You guys should be wary of such letters/mass mailings.

“Do HYP and other top tier schools usually send out that much mail?”

Unfortunately yes (relative to the # of students they accept). Best of luck to all of you though. ;)

It’s a letter. NBD.

Just to be clear…I was never saying that this letter meant anything and I don’t think others were either…just irrationally a little fun to get.

Just a post to let others who didn’t get something in this wave of marketing material…
don’t worry.

Don’t recall if our Yalie got a piece of mail or not in that first wave of mass mailings

Enjoy hs. Stay focused on doing what you love. The right fit for college will come. Yale is a great place and there are many great schools.

:)

So much for all the BS about SAT scores not counting much at Yale.
