Got waitlisted for Spring 2012 Transfer.. are you KIDDING ME???

Firstly, I'm not trying to sound entitled or rude, I'm just fed up with how little sense the operations in the admissions office at the U have made ** BOTH ** times I've applied here.

I am transferring (or was going to) to the U from Indiana University. I'm a Minnesota resident and live in the Twin Cities, and my initial plan was to attend the U Fall Semester in the College of Continuing Education and then be admitted to CLA for Spring.

I applied ** EARLY. ** June 27th to be exact. They said they don't even start looking at Transfer apps for Spring until September. I figured applying early with my stats (basically just good enough to get in) would ensure my acceptance and leave me with less worries.

However, yesterday, I found out I was ** WAITLISTED and would get a decision on on by December 15th. ** Are you ******ing kidding? If they don't even start reviewing apps for Spring until September, I have a really hard time believing that it's already full and that they're already using a waitlist. Speaking of, I was * waitlisted ** when I applied in high school too, and come to think of it, I never even got a final decision. Are they going to pull that * again?

So I'm left hanging.. I'm registered for Fall 2011 classes at the U in the College on Cont. Ed. but quite honestly if I wait it out till 12-15 and don't get off the waitlist, I not only wasted time and money commuting to and attending the U Fall semester, but I'm also left with like 2 weeks to find a new school to attend in the Spring; and I'm well finished with generals so a community college is a bit counterintuitive.

Can someone give me some advice here? This is the epitome of frustrating.

That is very frustrating for you. Competition for the U of MN has increased. For non transfer students entering the U of MN this fall there were 37,000 applicants for 5800 spots.

The U of MN also has a distance learning program where you have some sort of interactive online class and only come it to take tests.
