I received letter from WUSTL that they put me on the wait list.
What is the chance to get admitted after you got waitlisted?
Not referring specificially to WUSTL but in general

look up their commondata set and see what they tell you.

they say they dunno. because it differs from year to year

If you are one of the candidates they waitlisted because they thought you were "too qualified" then you are pretty much in. IF on the other hand you are an applicant who was actually borderline you are going to have to push very hard, i.e. call and write them.

Go to the WUSTL board -- there is quite a bit of discussion about this. Every year, cuz every year they waitlist a huge number of people ...

The answer to this question is "Next to zero." Many college waitlist more people than they accept. In "Admissions Confidential" by Toor at Duke, she said that there are three types of waitlisted applicants. 1) A few people they might actually take if the yield is low. 2) People who did well and they don't want to make feel bad with a straight out rejection. 3) People who aren't getting in, but where a rejection might upset a GC or alumni interviewer.
