I had the second highest average in Stat and the highest in AP Physics this year, and today we had our awards ceremony. Naturally, the top two in each class get a plaque for their "outstanding achievement" in the subject. However, awards for Stat and physics were not even ANNOUNCED. This leads me to believe that instead, four seniors (only 1 of which is in the top 2 of either class) are being selected on graduation day or something like that.

It's not a big deal really, but the fact the school gives awards for **** like "studio art 9" to 9th to 11th graders (well obviously to 9th for that specific award) but not to an 11th grader who has the highest average in his AP Physics class (by about 8 points, my teacher had said a few days ago) shows how whack the system is. LOL, we're a bad school anyway so I guess it doesn't matter.

Perhaps, with the sheer number of awards given out (one for each class, it sounds like), those particular classes were accidentally not mentioned. Or, perhaps, you're right in that you will be honored at graduation. Obviously, you deserve recognition for your achievement, and it's disappointing that you didn't. Sorry to hear about that.
