Gotta love Michigan snow =] Chances please?

White Female. Grew up in a low-income area in Michigan where I was very much a minority if that makes any difference.

20/505 in a huge public high school.
Taking an extremely tough courseload compared to my class. Less APs then most of them but most of our honors classes are more challenging then APs.

Huge upward trend in grades because I had pneumonia my last semester of freshman year. That and I'm bad with Spanish which is the only thing I've gotten a B in except for my 2nd semester of math because I was really sick during the final.

So here it goes so far:

Freshman: (3.75 uw)

Sophomore: (3.833 uw)

Summer Program:

Help start a youth sports league and am a very active member in the organization. Coach for 4 hours at least every day.
Volunteer at animal and senior citizen seniors a few hours a week during school and many more during summer.
Crew member for 3 plays
Part-time job.
I'm not sure if this counts but in middle school I participated in Future City competition and our city won a bunch of awards including a personal award for me for Best City For the Disabled. (Something I am proud of =])

I don't know my ACT or SAT scores yet but any ideas or advice?
My PSATs were great although I can't remember exact numbers.
My PLAN (a pre act test) estimated my ACT to be in the 33-36 range and from what I've been told it's pretty accurate

Thank you =]

You should have no problem getting into Michigan if your SAT/ACT scores are what you say they should be.

However, remember this, apply early. I can not stress this enough. One of my friends had very similar stats like yours, and was denied because she applied a bit too late.

Other than that, you seem to have pretty good chances.

Ok thank you

With your in-state status, 3.9 Michigan GPA, top 5% class rank and tough course selection, if you can break the 30 on the ACT, I'd say you are in. Of course, if you can break the 34+ on the ACT and assuming you apply by early September, I'd say you have a decent shot at some scholarship money.

I agree with everything by Alexandre :P.

Just don't forget to apply early

Snow is amazing.

I love the snow. The -20 windchill I could live without.
