Is receiving nothing (no mail or e-mail) from JHU usual?
I applied using commonapp. and sent in all the supplements.
But, I havent received any confirmation mail or anything.
help plz.

I don't know what is usual but my son got a letter back in November that I think was in response to a campus visit, not his application. He also got a yellow card later in November stating that they received his application.

I believe it is not unusual to receive nothing from them. They say they will only get in touch if they need something more. If you were truly concerned you could contact the Admissions Office to check, but recognize that they're into their reading/selection phase and may be slower to respond.

got nothing. worried.

I sent an email last friday regarding the same( common app , supps and fee wiaver) got back a reply that they are still processing applications!

Ya i am imaptient!

processing as in getting them organized? or having them read?

JHU is so helpful...well at least the CA admission officer rep is. She answers email within 24 hrs! I don't think JHU is impersonal at all!

dont worry if you havent gotten a letter notifying you about your application...my brother is a freshman there and last year he didnt recieve any letters

processing = getting them organized :)

I got a "your application is being processed" postcard TODAY. It's ridiculous how long JHU is taking :

Looking at the time they are taking just to process materials, do you think we'll get our decisions on the first of april or somewhere around the first week of april? Their website doesn't give a precise date. And how do we get our decisions. Do they send an e-mail? I know we can call the AO though.

Last year they put all the admissions packets in the mail (some special priority or express mail) on March 31st. (We were there on a campus tour that day and saw the hand-trucks of decision packets being moved out.)

S emailed them with some updates and an adcom responded with a nice personal note. I have a fond feeling for JHU because of CTY - I think, in general, they are "pros" and have their act pretty well together.

I didnt receive nothing either, but i am not worried. They told me that when my app is complete they will send me a little yelow postcard

I wouldn't worry too much. From my knowledge, JHU doesn't contact you much till the mail goes out with the decisions. I didn't get anything till a few days ago (Thursday or so) in which I finally received that yellow card saying my application is complete. It was dated from JHU on Feb. 15th, so it seems they're sitll processing as others suggested. No worries!

hehe my reply seems like it was typed by a robot, o wellll

Are you sure the yellow postcard says your app is complete or that they have just received some part of your application? coz i got that yellow postcard long ago in early january reminding of the deadline and telling me that they have recieved my app. I dont think it said my file is complete.

I turned in Part 1 of my application in early October, when I interviewed. A few weeks later (before I had sent in Part 2) I got the infamous yellow postcard. The next thing I heard from them was "Congratulations!"

Take home message: If you've sent your stuff in, it is very very likely that they have it. They're busy, and they don't appreciate a million people calling to check on their stuff. Sit tight!

wow you got in ED? which major? don't tell me its BME

Public Health. Not the math type. :)

Yea, actually, I suppose you're right. It just thanks me for applying. I'll type out the first part of it:

"Thank you for your application to JHU. We are processing your application materials and will contact you if anything is missing from your file. In the meantime, here are a few things to keep in mind:"

Then it just lists deadline dates and so on. So, yep, you're right. Based on the card, you shouldn't hear anything else from them till your decesion is mailed unless they're missing part of your app. So no worries :)
