gov school

so yeah, i was nominated for governers school nj today. our school nominates one person for each category. i was nominated for the engineering and technology one. the thing is i have never taken any tech classes and only one computer class (intro level). i do pretty well in math but i have yet to take physics since i am a junior. i thought if i got it, it would be for like science. i don't really know much about engineering. does anyone know what you do at this gov school? like what is it like? also, do you need a ton of ECs to get in or just grades/essays/recs/testing scores?

also does anyone know all of the divisions of governers school?

My friend was recommended too! Actually at my school we have to apply and the supervisor of the corresponding department decides on the nominees (1 male and 1 female per gov school). I was like "yo, apply for GSET" and he was lilke "um, ok" and he was nominated (which is a pretty huge deal here)!

Um yeah I have no clue how to answer all your questions.

The website is www.govschool.org. The divisions are Environment, Science, Public Issues, International Studies, Arts, and Engineering/Technology.

Good luck!

I was nominated for the International Issues one. In my AP U.S. History II class, the teacher said that we were allowed to apply, and a committee was established to pick two people for each of the two topics available under the social studies-type category. I applied and was nominated...

Yeah for our school, they don't let you pick which one you apply for. I love science and will probably have a science career, so that is the one I would have applied for, but they just picked me for this one. Thanks for your help. I don't know how much of a chance I have, but it's worth a try. What are the typical stats of the people who actually get to go?

trader - what school do you go to? Or at least which county do you live in? PM me if you want.
