Governor Hogg Scholarship?

So, I just got my financial aid package in the mail from UT. It wasn't all that great...it was all loans pretty much. I expected that though, since my parents' EFC is rather high. The one thing that did confuse me was that I got two notifications in the mail, a day apart from one another. They were both from OSFS, and the one displayed my general financial aid package (with my Governor Hogg Scholarship and loans listed). In total, this Governor Hogg scholarship accounts for $1000 ($500 per semester). I have never heard of this scholarship, and I can't find any information about it. Today, I got another letter from OSFS. At the top, there was a title that said "Academic Merit Award" with another $1000 listed. Does this mean that I have a $2000 scholarship, or is this "Academic Merit Award" the same as the Governor Hogg Scholarship? Also, am I still in consideration for other scholarships? For example, I'm applying to the Ronald M. and Marilou D. Brown Endowed Scholarship. The documentation for that scholarship isn't due until April 1 (although I submitted the documentation at least a month ago). Anyway, I am just generally confused about the whole scholarship deal at UT. If anyone could enlighten me, I'd be very grateful. :)

It is most likely the same scholarship listed under different names.

You will be considered for other scholarships but from what I’ve been told they try to award them to as many different students as possible, so it may hurt your chances of getting another scholarship from UT.

Well…I guess that sucks. :frowning: Oh well, I didn’t expect that much from UT…so, I’ve already applied to a lot of outside scholarships.
