i wanna send my 10 g's to ucla but i dont know who to bill to make the bill payable to and what department, any of u guys have a clue? g=100

Good question.

you're the first one i've ever known that says g=100. :p

whoops i meant to say a G not 10 g. g=1000 .
ok i called UCLA office and they said
check payable to: Regents of UC
Attention: Remitance Process Center
Address: 10920 Wilshire Blvd. ste- 107
Los Angeles, CA 90024
i have no clue wat ste-107 is but im jus gonna send it

ste-107 probably means suite 107.

anyway, yes, that's what you do.

i think you're also supposed to report it on your eFAN confirmation too.

i'm going to do it my last year. it accrues interest, so the longer you leave it in, the more money you get.

the financial aid people who made a presentation at orientation (mandatory for everyone with financial aid... otherwise they won't disburse your financial aid) said it is better to use the governor's scholarship now cuz the fees are rising faster than the interest can catch up to it. basically, in the future, your scholarship isn't worth as much as it was.

DO NOT report you scholarchips to UCLA on your efan!!!! i reported all my scholarchips (4g's) and they took that away from my university scholarship and work study! i was ****ed because that defeated the purpose of getting the scholarships! now i need to take out loans. the worse part its the same for all uc's! i was so mad i was about to see if i could accept cal's offer than i found out it was the same for all uc's!

Along those lines, should I bother applying for scholarships; won't they decrease what little aid I already have?

That's terrible agda8287!! My eFan includes a few thousand dollars from University Grants, and I don't want to lose out on them. Has anyone else encountered this problem? And if I don't report my Governor Scholarships to them, and decide I want to make use of the scholarships later, then will they revoke my financial aid and force me to pay it back?

i dont know how that will work. the financial aid office told me that every student has a limit on the amount of aid i can recieve and i think i hit that limit. i got a good financial aid package. my friend who will be attending cal had this happen to her but she was in the same situation. call and ask.

Can anyone else confirm what agda8287 is saying?

can you use the gov scholarship for summer school?

i researched it and then contacted the financial aid office again and they told what i already knew (every students limit) but they said that if a students parents were receiving government aid (social securiy in my case; my parents are in their late sixties) then a limit is placed. the university of california champions the idea that every student should be responsible for their own education (by that they mean that they want us to take out loans!) every case is different. if a student is recieving the maximum financial aid (that is money from every category on your efan with the exception of your loans) then the money will be taken from the work study program, etc.. this also makes more funds accesible to other students who otherwise would not recieve any or little aid.
