Hello everybody!
My GPA is pretty low at 2.95 w and my SAT is alright at 1990 (680 reading, 660 math, 650 writing). My 10th grade gpa was low but I brought it up to 3.5 in 11th grade. I got all 3s on the AP Bio, AP Art History, and APUSH tests and I have around 150 ec hours. I am in my senior year and am wondering what UCs (if any) or CSUs would be available to me.
Thank you!
If that is your UC GPA, then literally zero for the UCs. They have a minimum requirement of 3. If not come back with your UC GPA. I’m not sure about CSU requirements but I think you have a chance at all of them except SDSU and the Cal Polys
As stated above, minimum UC GPA is 3.0 and that will most likely get you into UC Merced. You need to calculate your Eligibility index for the CSU’s.
(CSU/UC GPA x800) + (SAT Math + CR)
Depending upon major, look at Cal Poly Pomona, SFSU, SJSU, Chico state, Sac State, San Marcos, Monterey Bay for starters. Your EI comes out to 3700 based on posted info. This should get you in to most CSU’s except SLO, SDSU, CSULB and CSU Fullerton.
Thank you guys for the responses!
Could you by chance tell me my chances of getting into Oregon State University, ASU, University of Arizona, and University of Hawaii, Manoa?
Also, I am interested in a Biology major. Would that major lower my chances of getting into the CSUs and should I consider changing it?
Biology is a very competitive and popular major, so if you have an alternate major in mind, it might help your chances. Check each school to make sure of impactation since switching into Biology later could be problematic. For ASU, you look like you have decent chance. The rest ???
I was also wondering whether applying undeclared would give me a better chance of getting in to those CSUs- or would that be a bad idea compared to applying as a bio major?
Undeclared at some campuses is also an impacted major and some campuses do not allow you to be undeclared, see CSU matrix link: http://www.calstate.edu/SAS/documents/impactedprogramsmatrix.pdf
I would look at the non-impacted campuses first for your best chances and select Biology as your major. At the more competitive campuses, if they offer undeclared, you can apply but like I stated in the above post, the more competitive the major, the more difficult it may be to switch later.

alright thank you so much!
