Gpa 3.19 sat 1300

I'm applying to UC's and CSU's do i have any chance in getting into any of them? Took AP courses my junior and currently in my senior year, i have extra curricular actiivities, and will have a strong personal statement?

Is your SAT scores out of 2400?

Yeah it is D:

Is 3.19 your UC/CSU admissions GPA, calculated as described below?
[CSUMentor - Plan for College - High School Students - GPA Calculator](<a href=“Cal State Apply | CSU”>Cal State Apply | CSU)

The CR and M sections of the SAT are the relevant ones. If you are a California resident, you need at least a 3.0 GPA for UC (though you may only have a chance at the least selective UCs) unless you are eligible by examination.

CSU eligibility is determined by the CSU eligibility index described here:
[CSUMentor - Plan for College - High School Students - Calculate Your Eligibility Index](<a href=“Cal State Apply | CSU”>Cal State Apply | CSU)

If you are a California resident, a 3.0 GPA or a CSU eligibility index of 2900 (with minimum GPA of 2.0) is needed to be admissible to CSU:

However, some campuses and majors are impacted, and may require higher eligibility index, as described here:
[CSUMentor - Plan for College - High School Students - Campuses That Have Higher Standards](<a href=“Cal State Apply | CSU”>Cal State Apply | CSU)
[CSUMentor - Plan for College - High School Students - Majors That Have Higher Standards](<a href=“Cal State Apply | CSU”>Cal State Apply | CSU)

An example of an impacted CSU campus is San Jose, which is one of the more transparent ones about admissions thresholds the past admissions cycle:

Okay thank you!
I’m going to retake the SAT’s this December so maybe it will help more! However, do I have a chance into getting into any?

You have a chance for the csu but it depends on where you plan to apply. For UC’s the average last year I believe was between 3.6-3.8, I’m not positive. Try to bring up your GPA if you can. Best of Luck!

Last year, my son had that GPA and a relatively good SAT and only got into UCR,and that was after being waitlisted. He did not apply to UCM, which you should get into if you are UC eligible. He got into a few CSU’s.

Take the ACT’s. Maybe you can perform way better. Don’t feel hopeless, though. Yeah, your chances are pretty low for the UC’s, but that does not mean you should’nt apply. Just have some safety schools and you’ll be fine.

Thanks alot guys! That makes me feel a lot better, but I am taking th ACT’s thi saturday so hopefully that helps.

For CSU’s I’m applying to Humboldt State, San Marcos, Northridge, Dominguez Hills, San Bernardino, & East Bay.

I really want to get in Humboldt, but I don’t know if my grades and SAT score will get me in?

UC’s:
UCR
UCM
UCSB
UCSC.

And also to Cal Baptist University.

Do I have a chance in any of these?? D:

Hey! A very good friend of my son is at Cal Baptist playing soccer this year! I don’t kow his stats, but I think you have a chance. Another is at Biola, and one at Azuza Pacific.

Perhaps you should consider some SAT optional schools.

There is a list of them out there somewhere.

You shouldn’t have such bad SAT scores, if you are smart enough to take AP classes. How did you do on the actual AP exams?

Another option may be to simply go to community college, and do well there. And then transfer into the school you really want to go to. Presumably, if you get all A’s and B’s in community colleges, the four year colleges won’t care as much how you did on your SAT.

I know that is not what you want to hear, but that would be my impartial advice.

If you have the course requirements, and your grades and test scores meet the CSU eligibility minimums (see the links above), and you are not applying for an impacted major (see the links above), you should at least get into CSU Dominguez Hills and CSU East Bay, which are not campus impacted (see the links above). Since you did not specify your UC/CSU admissions GPA or SAT CR+M, it is hard for anyone else to tell you more.

Of course, it is entirely possible that you could get admitted to other CSUs and UCs.

I got a 430 on critical reading and 340 in math, but I got a 530 in my writing. I dont test well, and had no idea what to expect when I took the SAT’s. Maybe that was a big factor? I know I can improve in my CR but my math really just sucks. I really want to get into Humboldt State, but I dont if I qualify with my test scores and GPA. :/

I doubt you’ll get into any UCs. Maybe San Jose State or some CSUs

Going to community college won’t hurt either, you won’t need SAT scores to transfer anyways
