Hi all -

I transferred to UVA from a cc & did well my 1st semester - 3.8. Spring was abysmal - I think it will be about a 3.2-3.3. Someone close to me passed away. If I get all As through summer classes & fall semster I can probably reach a 3.6 or 3.7. I have 2 questions:

If I do well & reach the 3.7, can/should I still apply to my dream T14 schools?

Should I mention the personal tragedy in my personal statement or is it oversharing? I'm just not sure. I sort of do want to provide an explanation, though. I also took 6 classes b/c I changed my major. Ugh. Bad idea.

PS - I know no matter what, I must own the LSAT. (Thanks, CC forum!)

I would appreciate any advice. Also, I'm a nontrad student who worked for years before coming to school (in a totally unrelated field to law), so I'm not planning on working for a few years before I apply.

Thanks! pinknebula
