I've got an absolutely deplorable GPA, caused in varying factors by; My own personality, The ghetto school I belong to with a 50% dropout rate, and a disturbing home life. It would take an act of God for my GPA to get above 3.0 by graduation. it is currently 2.75.
I did though, score fairly well on the ACT, with a 30 composite, and a perfect reading score, which is the best score anyone in my school has ever recieved. Ever.
Should I give up the college search and go with a community one because of the GPA?

btw- I also have a few EC activities and am an Eagle Scout

You should try for four-year, definitely. If you don’t get in anywhere or you can’t afford it, then you start looking at community college. Try some of your state universities. Also look for small private liberal arts colleges that are not very selective, maybe with a 75% or better acceptance rate. If you’re low income, many private schools will meet most of your need, so don’t worry about the price tag. Look into how much need they meet before applying though. You definitely have a chance, so try! Good luck!
