GPA and Graduate school

I want to go to graduate school (in history or political science), but because (for me, at least) it's hard to get above an A-, I don't know if my gpa will hold up against other applicants.

I've been getting mostly A-'s, and my overall gpa is hovering around 3.6. At that rate, do you think it will still be competitive in a potential applicant pool?

Thanks!

I went to grad school in economics from Williams. Here are a few things to do:

 1. Talk to professors about your interest, get advice from them. They will know how far a 3.6 from Williams will get you.
 2. Recommendations are more important than grades, make friends with profs.
 3. For econ, research experience is nice, and distinguishes you from others.
