GPA and interviewing: is it OK to "round up?"

<p>That’s kind of strange about your S’s HS transcript including grades from so long ago even if they were courses that could be taken in HS. But I think most colleges will only care about the GPA for a certain period anyway. For the UCs it’s grades 10/11 and they do their own GPA calculations and for example, exclude certain non-academic courses like PE and will allow only so many AP/H courses to count on the 5 point scale. Hopefully colleges that don’t do their own GPA calc of the HS grades will be savvy enough to realize the wide differences in how various HS compute their GPAs.</p>

<p>Even the pi originator said “sure, it’s okay if you round to 3.14”.</p>

<p>I think X.yy is common. And I can understand a student’s hesitation in these days of resume padding to report a 3.96 as a 4.0.</p>

<p>If your son puts his GPA on his resume, just put he exact figure according to his transcript. Most likely, he won’t be asked if it’s already in black and white.</p>
