What point value is each grade worth at UM?

a 3.8 gpa will require really good study skills, but it also depends on your major. For engineering majors, it's hard but doable provided you study smart and you study every evening and a considerable amount of time over the weekends. For premeds, you have to deal w/ all those weeder classes. You can look up the point values at the U of M website.

A+/A 4.0
A- 3.7
B+ 3.3
B 3.0
B- 2.7
C+ 2.3
C 2.0
... and so on

What are pre-meds like on campus? Are they always stressed? How hard is it to get an A in pre-med classes?

From what I hear, it's pretty difficult to get A's in pre-med classes like Organic Chemistry I and II. I think you can't categorize a pre-med, but many are future-oriented, competitive, sometimes cutthroat people. Again I am sure there are nice pre-meds out there who know how to balance school and fun, but I don't know many.
