gpa at yale

i heard gpa at yale is hard to get..
that curve is not good.. UNLIKE harvard or princeton

true?

not true.
the curve totally depends on what class you're taking.
everyone i know has a decent gpa.

i have a friend who graduated from yale and went on to harvard med. school. she said that she basically never left the library or dorm (ie. she studied a lot). she occasionally went out but rarely. she had more of a social life at harvard when med. school classes were pass/fail and she was able to waive another 10 points or so on a test, so chose balance in her life instead. she said high school prepared her well for college but that she had to study a lot. she graduated from yale summa cum laude, phi beta kappa and obviously got into harvard med. school. obviously, everybody who graduates from college does not graduate with a top g.p.a. many people don't study when they go to college. look at george bush. did he have over a 3.0 g.p.a i don't think so. it is unrealistic to think that everybody who graduates from yale, or harvard or princeton has a great g.p.a because everybody who goes there is smart so they must just deserve to have a high g.p.a i would say that to obtain a high g.p.a., you can assume you are going to have to work your tail off (unless you are an unusual genius). harvard, yale, and princeton would not be who they are if they just gave out high g.p.a.'s to everyone who ever attended. expect to work - that should be obvious. trust me, there are many kids in college who skip classes and don't study.
