what are the values of each letter grade (a,b,c,d,f) on a gpa scale of 4.0(unweighted)?

4.0 A
3.0 B
2.0 C
1.0 D

so if an A is a 93 and above at your school, what would a 97 be in terms of 1-4 scale?

what abotu a- b+ a+? shouldnt a+ be 4.0?

what if someone got straight 89.4s? would he have a 3.0 gpa?

It really depends on your school, each will have their own way of equating percentages to the academic scale (if they even do that). Generally the agreed upon way with calculating -/+s is:

A+ 4.0
A 4.0
A- 3.7

B+ 3.3
B 3.0
B- 2.7

C+ 2.3
C 2.0
C- 1.7

D+ 1.3
D 1.0
D- .7

Basically, yes (if that's how the school determines unweighted GPA's). But if the person has an 89.4 in say 6 classes and isn't bright enough to convince at least half the teachers to bump him to an A-, honestly he doesn't deserve a higher unweighted GPA anyhow.
