Can anyone explain the difference between unweighted and weighted GPA? When someone says they have a 4.3…does that mean their average is over a 100? What would be a 97…weighted and unweighted? Any help would be appreciated.

Weighted gpa is when they count the extra points for taking AP and honors courses. In uw gpa, they extra points are not counted and all the courses are taken equally.

Oh, I'm pretty sure my school does weighted...that would suck if schools counted all courses the same...makes your rank lower.

Yeah, I took AP classes online, which added to my weighted gpa and so I am 1/466 now.

Really... were they difficult classes? Can you take US History AP online?

Of couse you can take AP US Hist online, thats like the most common AP ever. they can get difficult at times, especiall if you get lazy which happened to my because I though online classes werent my major priority. Its also pretty easy to cheat ;) , not that I did it often.

lol, but like what type of work did they give you?

Essays (alot of them), times tests, work sheets, AP simulation exams all to be completed online. Its just like any "live" high school, but all work is done online.

Oh I see..how difficult did they grade?

eh, as long as your answers are right, you can get an 'A'

lol, what website is this

there are loads of online school. I go to www.flvs.net , but I also heard
www.apexvs.com is also good. Just google and you will find many more accredited virtual high schools.

Thanks papajohns!

no problemo....

Papajohns, are these courses free? My school doesn't offer AP's so I'm designing a couple of independent study courses to take. I would like to take an online course if it doesn't cost a lot.
