I currently am a freshman at a university and was curious if I was calculating my GPA correctly. I took 5 classes last semester and ended up withdrawing from one. My grades were as followed: A, A-, A-, B. They were all worth 3 credits. Now when i calculate my GPA it equals a 3.6. My university has my overall as a 3.58. Now I know this is a very small difference but it is meaningful to me. Can anyone give me some insight on why or how i may be calculating this incorrectly? I emailed my school but they are closed until tomorrow and was hoping to get a quick answer! Thanks!
Different schools calculate GPA differently. You shouldn’t worry about it.
What does your university consider an A-? If it’s worth 3.67 grade points, I get 3.585 as the GPA. 3.66 would be 3.58.
You weighted A- as 3.7, the university as 3.6666667.
