Is there a specific way Brown recalculates our gpa for admissions?

Most likely, electives don't count. 9th grade omitted, too, probably. Beyond that, who knows?

No I wouldn't expect 9th grade to be omitted.

I thought it was the general policy of the Ivies to ignore 9th grade. Please feel free to correct me if I'm mistaken.

hopefully not, i did really well in 9th grade..well not so well compared to you CC geniuses, but it was my highest GPA year.

most colleges just compare you to other students in the school instead of using their own arbitrary method

9th grade omitted? isn't princeton the only ivy to do that?

Princeton and Stanford are the only ivy [or equivalent] colleges that don't look at Freshman grades. All the others look at all 4 years.

My s's school does not include freshman year in their gpa calculations.
