I understand that colleges use UW GPA to judge an applicant. My school only gives us an UW gpa anyway. My question is will a college (such as ivies) recalculate my unweighted gpa to their scale rather than my school's scale? For example to get an A at my school you need a 95-100. An A- is a 90-95. However, college board states (here is the link http://www.collegeboard.com/html/academicTracker-howtoconvert.html) that a 93-96 is an A or a 4.0, I got a few A-'s last year that were 93s so will colleges count those as As and increase my UW gpa or will they just use the gpa my school gives them?

I mean, I’m not sure it really matters. The way they judge you will vary from school to school. They have their own GPAs they will calculate you by. Just make sure you don’t try to change your GPA yourself. Put it in exactly how it appears on your transcript. It’s up to the school to determine how they will convert your grades

@ooohcollege - Just to be clear. What shows up on your transcript, the 93 or the A-? If the college sees the A-, how can they possibly recalculate? They have no idea if it was a 90 or a 93. If the transcript shows the 93 that might be a different matter.

They show both but I’m not interested in this anymore but thank you for your input.
