After the first quarter of my freshman year I switched schools, so on my transcripts is has the grades for both quarters instead of the semester. When calculating my GPA, what should I do?
Final semester grades are used to calculate GPA. Usually schools also include a final exam into your final grade.
Example:
Q3 Grade: 91% (40% of grade)
Q4 Grade: 97% (40% of grade)
Exam Grade: 92% (20% of grade)
In this case, your final grade will be 94%, which is an A. Take the average of your GPA points earned from final classes (on unweighted, an A is 4.0 for example). Your school may add points for honors or GPA classes, which are factored into weighted GPA.
