GPA calculation

i know Caltech does weighted GPA’s, but do they recalculate it when you send your transcript? because my school doesn’ do weighted GPA’s so if they don’t recalculate it i’m screwed.

also, do they shave off the minuses when calculating GPA? so like is A- the same as an A
