<p>How do colleges calculate student's GPA? In books that list colleges and their average GPA of their students, what's the system they use? Do they all use the same system? If a school's avg GPA is for example 3.7, is that weighted or unweighted or what?</p>
<p>Different schools calculate GPA differently. Some add on for honors and APs and others don’t. Some schools only use the classes that are required for admissions (not sure how it works if you took 4 years of a foreign language and only require 2 or 3). Some schools don’t include what they feel are fluff classes. You really need to ask every school.</p>
